Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores for the second successive year and the third time in their history with a 2-1 win after extra-time over fellow Brazilian side Flamengo in Uruguay on Saturday.
Deyverson scored the winning goal five minutes into extra-time after he was gifted a one-on-one by Andreas Pereira – on loan to Flamengo from Manchester United.
The defending champions had gone ahead in the fifth minute of normal time through Raphael Veiga before they were pegged back by Gabriel Barbosa 20 minutes from time.
One of the most memorable moments of the game came in stoppage time of extra-time when match winner Deyverson dived after being patted on the back by the referee. It’s a clip that will make compilation videos for centuries.
