Leicester City moved to the top of Group C of the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League with a convincing 3-1 victory at home to Legia Warsaw on Thursday night.
Brendan Rodgers’ side had started the day bottom of a tight group with only one win in five prior to welcoming the Polish side to the King Power Stadium.
Patson Daka, James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi scored the Foxes’ goals in the first half after the visitors had reduced the score to 2-1 following Filip Mladenovic’s penalty rebound.
After being hammered 0-3 at home to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, the East Midlands club fielded a strong side for their midweek European encounter.
Victory gives Leicester eight points, one more than both Spartak Moscow and Napoli, with the Russian side having beaten the latter in Moscow on Wednesday night.
Leicester will go to Italian Serie A side Napoli in their final group game in two weeks’ time.
