Liverpool maintained their 100% record in Group B with a 2-0 win at home to FC Porto in the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Thiago Alcantara and Mohamed Salah scored the goals in the second half for the Reds, who now have a 10-point lead over the Portuguese side in second.
Spanish midfielder Thiago opened the scoring on 52 minutes with a stunning, long-range strike into the bottom corner of Diogo Costa’s goal.
Mohamed Salah wrapped up the three points 20 minutes from time when he cut inside the Porto defence and smashed home at the near post.
FC Porto should be disappointed with their performance given Liverpool were far from the best, potentially thinking about the visit of Southampton in the English Premier League on Saturday, with their job already done in this season’s Champions League.
AC Milan’s 1-0 win away to Atletico Madrid mean those two sides are on four points heading into the final game in a fortnight’s time. Diego Simeone’s side will go to Portugal, whilst AC Milan will host Liverpool.
